St Lawrence at Revesby was built as late as 1891 replacing an earlier church finished in the early 1700s. This former church itself replaced an earlier medieval church. In the floor of the chancel can be found copies of tiles of the old Cistercian Abbey which was founded nine centuries ago by William de Roumare, Earl of Lincoln. Some carved stones remain from earlier churches but little else.
